It clips on a belt, and the holder with a rod situated in the holder can be rotated to: 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, and 180°. When it is moved to a preferred position, you can hear/feel a click. This allows the following:
- You can place the rod at any position, freeing your hands to take a break, drink or eat
- You can move the holder with rod to 45° or 90° to move the fly closer with your hands free to clean or change a fly
- You can carry two rods, placing the second rod away from your body at 135° or 180°
- You can net a fish, place the rod in the holder, and free one hand to help remove the hook.
- You can clip your hat into the holder or any objects that you want to keep close.
- Allows you to safely store your rod when using a wading pole so you can focus on navigating the river.
