The Story Behind the Perigon Rotary Fly Rod Holder
The Perigon Rotary Fly Rod Holder was created by Alan Wanderer, an ardent trout fly fisherman whose passion took him to the major streams of Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona, and to the far reaches of Canada's Northwest Territories, where he landed trophy northern pike over 40 inches on a 9-weight rod at Scott's Lake. Alan also loved stalking bonefish on the sand flats of Christmas Island, Mexico, Florida, Belize, and Venezuela.
These wide-ranging adventures inspired him to solve a simple but persistent challenge: the need for a truly hands-free solution while fly fishing. From this idea, the Perigon Rotary Fly Rod Holder was born, a versatile rotary device that securely holds a rod in place at different preferred angles, allowing anglers to perform essential tasks with ease.
Whether taking a break midstream, changing flies, netting a fish, swapping rods, or wading with a pole, the Perigon keeps your hands free and your focus where it matters most, on the water.
Alan’s passion for fly fishing continues through his sons, Rob and David, and his grandsons Duncan, Mitchell, and Jackson, all dedicated anglers. Field testers agree the Perigon Rotary Fly Rod Holder enhances every fishing experience, making time on the water more efficient, relaxing, and enjoyable.
